Universal College of Learning

The Universal College of Learning (UCOL) is a New Zealand Government TEI (Polytechnic) located primarily in Palmerston North but has campuses also in Whanganui, Masterton and Auckland.

UCOL was founded in 1907 and was known as the Palmerston North Technical School. In 1971 it became the Palmerston North Technical Institute and in 1983 the Manawatu Polytechnic. At the time it specialized in trade apprenticeship courses, and in hobby, art, and craft classes, along with a range of night school programmers in business studies for working adults.

As successive governments placed emphasis on vocational education, the Polytechnic broadened the courses offered, but retained a focus on core vocational programmes. It now delivers Foundation and Certificate programmers, Diplomas, Degrees and Post-Graduate options in a range of subjects as well as community based programmers.

Auckland University of Technology (AUT) (Māori: Te Wānanga Aronui o Tāmaki Makau Rau) is a university in New Zealand. It was formed on 1 January 2000 (1895 originally Auckland Technical School) when the Auckland Institute of Technology was granted university status. Its primary campus is on Wellesley Street in Auckland’s Central business district (CBD). AUT has three secondary campuses: North Shore, South, and the Millennium Institute of Sport and Health (AUT Millennium Campus).

AUT enrolled 28,314 students in 2014, including 2,606 international students from 85 countries, and 1,735 postgraduate students. 87% of students were enrolled in a bachelor’s degree or higher qualification. AUT’s student population is diverse with students having a range of ethnic backgrounds including New Zealand European, Asian, Maori and Pacific Islander. Students also represent a wide age range with 37% of students being over 25. AUT University employed 2,063 full-time equivalent (FTE) staff in 2011, including both administrative and academic staff members.

Data suggests that 91% of AUT’s graduates obtain employment or progress to further study within six months of graduating. In the 2016 QS World University Ranking, AUT was ranked as 441–450.

维多利亚大学（Victoria University of Wellington），于1897年成立于新西兰惠灵顿，当年正值维多利亚女王登基六十周年纪念，因此该大学便以“维多利亚”命名。大学的四位创始教授：Thomas Easterfield, Hugh MacKenzie, Richard Maclaurin 和John Rankine Brown 于1899抵达惠灵顿并开始教学。与奥克兰大学，坎特伯雷大学和奥塔哥大学一样，学校在1961年以前是新西兰大学(University of New Zealand)的组成学院之一。新西兰大学于1961年解散，学位授予权下放给各组成学院。

Victoria University of Wellington (Māori: Te Whare Wānanga o Te Ūpoko o Te Ika a Māui) is a university in Wellington, New Zealand. It was established in 1897 by Act of Parliament, and was a constituent college of the University of New Zealand.

The university is well known for its programmers in law, the humanities, and some scientific disciplines, and offers a broad range of other courses. Entry to all courses at first year is open, and entry to second year in some programmers (e.g. law, criminology, creative writing, architecture) is restricted.

Victoria had the highest average research grade in the New Zealand Government’s Performance-Based Research Fund exercise in 2012, having been ranked 4th in 2006 and 3rd in 2003. Victoria has been ranked 229th in the World’s Top 500 universities by the QS World University Rankings (2015), an increase of 46 from the 2014 ranking. In 2017’s QS World University Rankings Victoria was ranked in the top 2% of universities in the world, and in the top 1% for 14 subjects.

奥塔哥大学的主校园位于达尼丁(Dunedin)，达尼丁的环境安全，舒适，不拥挤，是理想的学习和开展各种户外活动的好地方。达尼丁校园位于市中心，大多是学生住在只需要步行即可到达校园的地方，离市中心的服务和购物中心也不远。奥塔哥大学还在基督城和惠灵顿设有医学和健康科学习院。

奥塔哥大学有全新西兰第一所医学院，并且是南岛的医学研究中心，由于是第一个将试管婴儿付诸实际的医学中心，因此在世界上享有盛名。奥塔哥大学也有全新西兰唯一的牙医学校，其国际排名更是在前十名内，且为大洋洲第一名。此外，本校也是南岛唯一有药学、理疗、医学实验等科系的学校。这所医学院至今依旧闻名，其入学的要求与一般大学相同，只要在大学入学考试中考过三个科目便能就读，因此每年吸引近千名学生来此地就读，大家共修第一年科目，然后依成绩决定往后的专业科系。医学院每年录取一百八十位学生，牙医六十位，药学约一百八十位。若未进任何理想科目的学生，可转修其他科系，可用二年级成绩重新申请牙医或者是读完一个学位后，重新申请学士后医学院。

其他非医学科系，如生理，解剖等也是世界有名的，新兴科系如生化，基因工程，或者是基础科学如物理、化学、数学等也都有开课，另外还有商学和法学等科目。尤其是商学院，和奥克兰大学的商学院一样，闻名于新西兰，每年都有百多位国际留学生，来此地取得奥塔哥大学MBA的学位。

奥塔哥大学语言中心（university of Otago Canguage Center and Foundation Year )　奥塔哥大学语言中心希望攻读大学课程或者大学预科课程的学生提供强化英语和学习技巧的预科课程。语言中心是托福和雅思考试注册中心，课程为考试提供专门准备课程。
